Bear With Me

stilton jarlsberg, hope n' change, hope and change, tea party, conservative, obamacare, epilepsy, economy, immigration, unemployment, big government

Just a few quick words of explanation; my family is still very much embroiled in a health issue which takes a lot of time and demands a positive attitude - which is somewhat harder to maintain when I'm keeping a close eye on the ever-depressing news and worrying about what Obamacare is about to do to my family. Without lube.

And while the work I do on Hope n' Change is satisfying and is maybe even developing a little reach, I've got to weigh whether it's the best use of my time and energies right now when it comes to my family - especially as I might be able to turn that time and energy into entrepreneurial profit-making ventures (which, in its own way, is a good way to piss off Obama!)

I haven't made up my mind - I'm just buying myself a little time to think. I can already tell you that my voice and perspective won't be silenced and I won't disappear. And I can also tell you that the camaraderie and wise voices (decidedly not my own) on this site mean the world to me. Hope n' Change has become a community that I wish more conservatives would listen to, for wisdom, moderation, and humor. And you wonderful folks lift my spirits on a daily basis.

SOoooo, let's look at this as a short "Labor Day" vacation during which I can gather my thoughts and sort my priorities. And maybe grill some hotdogs and have a cold beer beneath the soothing, healing shade of an American flag.    -Stilton

Dreampunk

Today, B. Hussein Obama will be speaking about the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's "I Have a Dream" speech. And according to early reports, the president will use the occasion to attack "the evil rich," white people in general, and our stinking nation with its stinking history of stinking racism.

Joining in the spirit of "looking back," Hope n' Change is reposting some cartoons and links showing how Barry has "honored" Dr. King in the past...

During the week of Dr. King's birthday, Barry helped clear the New Black Panthers of charges of voter intimidation, just because they happened to brandish weapons, threaten people, and use racial epithets while demanding that voters cast their ballots based on the color of Obama's skin.

Barack Obama attends the dedication of the Martin Luther King Jr memorial in Washington, and uses the occasion to praise Occupy Wall Street for trying to stand up against money-grabbers. He does not, however, mention that Dr. King's family charged an $800,000 fee for the government to have permission to put Dr. King's visage on the monument - along with a quotation which turned out to be incorrect.

Barry sends out a "personal email" to his minions, telling them that the First Lady is having a birthday and the best possible gift in the whole wide world would be money for his re-election campaign. The message ends with a quick and passionless "PS" saying "This weekend people are getting together to volunteer in their communities in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day."

Hey, we suppose it's nice that he remembered at all while reaching for all those wallets...

Got MLK

This week marks the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's "I Have A Dream" speech. On Wednesday that speech will be commemorated by Barack Obama - who has done more to destroy Dr. King's dream than James Earl Ray ever hoped of accomplishing.

Under this president, the color of your skin means everything. The content of your character means nothing. A yearning for equality and integration has been replaced with calls for revenge and reparations.

And sadly this has all been done by design, for the political benefit of scheming Progressive politicians who are the new, but no less loathesome, slavemasters.

This is not the future that Dr. King believed in, hoped for, prayed for, and gave his life for.

But had he given a speech called "I Have a Nightmare," you can be sure that Barack Obama would have been prominently featured. And Dr. King's viewpoint wouldn't have been from the mountaintop... but rather from the crumbling lip of a cliff overlooking a bottomless abyss.

Marchers have converged on Washington to celebrate their new "King."
Sadly, this photo is real.
